The Rest of the Week

Hello Friends,
We've taken a bit of time out to look at other people's blogs and decided to add a few links and possible money-earners to our site. Have a look by all means but don't feel tempted to spend what you ain't got nor buy just for the sake of it.
Anyway, back to Christmas week...
The day after the breakfast - which was a veritable feast of Bajan and Canadian cooking - was the cruise aboard The MV Harbour Master, which is a large boat, pretty much like anything you'd go on up and down the Thames for the day, with the exception that the views were different and you could dive off the side with no fears. The Moseley Family Reunion had hired it just for ourselves and so there was a three-quarter hour delay waiting for one couple to arrive - not us, surprisingly! We set off in the sunshine, on the way viewing turtles basking in the water, little fishes of all colours, etc, etc but the main views were of the bar, which was free! Okay, we also got to see what's known as the Gold Coast, where the likes of your PM and Sir Cliff and Cilla hang out; an excellent view of Mount Gay Distillery; the cement factory and Farley Hill from the boat. Food served on the boat included roast ham, roast pork, roast turkey, chicken, fish, rice and peas, macaroni pie, salad, sweet potato and coleslaw, so we had a bit of everything! Dessert was fresh fruit salad and a selection of cakes. We drank and chatted and laughed a lot. One family member was ill but she said it was the orange juice served at the bar not agreeing with her breakfast. Yeah, right! There was dancing; there was bottom-shaking; there were willies bouncing, flags waving, skirts flailing and people generally getting on bad but you know families...
The next day was 'the rest of the week' apart from tidying up as Mum and sisters were flying in on New Year's Day. The Old Year's Night celebrations were good fun, if not tinged with sadness as some cousins were flying out that afternoon and early evening. By the time of the barbecue we were all shattered and so left at about one a.m. to go home and sleep.

There we were, sitting out on the back step, (must take a picture to show you) enjoying a fag; the calm before the storm as they say; nothing to do till British Airways flies over at 3.45 p.m. when we'd then have a mad rush to get to the airport before the baggage-handlers turf out the rest of the Moseley girls.
A quiet plane goes in but it's a large plane at 3.15. Nothing due at 3.15 on a Sunday that big, is there? Oh yes! British Airways has flown in half an hour early and none of us showered or anything! Luckily the truck was clean so one less thing to do. We raced up to the airport and Mum and the Sisters came through the Arrivals gate at 3.55. Can you believe it?
